FAQ's

1. How strict are we on cut off ages? Can two children from one family go to the same camp?

A: We would like the children to be close to the age/grade for the camp listed, and have no problem allowing more than one child from a family attend the same camp.

2. Are children allowed to come to camp that are on medication for behavioral management?

A: Yes, but they will be expected to follow camp rules just like everyone else, with the consequence of being sent home if a significant problem arises - also the same with every other camper.

3. Can children come to more than one camp?

A: Not recommended, but as long as they follow all the camp rules it would be fine.

4. Can parents visit their children at camp?

A: Not recommended...they can tour the camp when dropping off their children, and are welcome to come to the free supper and program at the end of camp.  As an alternative, the parents may apply to volunteer for the week of camp (see staff application form and requirements) or we have a Family Camp that the whole family can attend.  Special circumstances are acceptable ie. special events that child needs to attend and parents need come pick up for a day; appointments; visiting relatives...we simply ask that when dropping off your child, or on your registration form you let us know in writing, as we will need to plan our camp schedule so we can accommodate your circumstance.

5.Can the camp phone number be made available to parents?

A: the phone number is (403) 932-4499 but is only to be used for emergencies, please.

6. For new campers and parents, could there be a host person to direct them around the camp?

A: The child's counselor will be able to give the family a tour of the camp.

7. Can campers bring electronic devices with them to camp?

A: NO, unless they are medically required.  There is NO cell phone reception at camp and electronics are best left at home where they cannot be stolen or broken.

8. What is our staff to camper ratio?

A: We usually have a 1:3 ratio; but we operate with volunteers so sometimes that ratio is higher or lower.
